Presented by O’Hare’s GastroPub and Liquor Store. The inaugural Steveston Beer Fest, held at the historic Gulf of Georgia Cannery and in benefit of the Richmond Christmas Fund, will host approximately 40 booths showcasing craft beer from B.C., the U.S. and further afield in casks, kegs and bottles, as well as a pumpkin beer competition. B.C. Beer Awards & Festival, Croatian Cultural Centre, 3250 Commercial Dr., Vancouver, 1-6 p.m., $35
The fourth annual B.C. Beer Awards & Festival is billed as the signature consumer tasting event of B.C. Craft Beer Month, and combines a caskival with the B.C. Beer Awards ceremony. New this year is the Hops Connect Hops Class, sponsored by Hops Connect and led by CAMRA Vancouver’s education liaison, Danny Seeton, which costs an extra $10 (limited to 50 seats). Also available are VIP tickets for groups of six ($400), which includes a 90-minute tour through some of B.C.’s best beers, led by a certified beer expert. Tickets are on sale now here.
